Congress opening

On November 21 and 22, Prof. Dr. Sergio Nasarre participated as a keynote speaker in the Congress of collaborative accommodation that was held in Almería, organized by the University of Almeria in collaboration with the University of the Balearic Islands. Prof. Dr. Nasarre was in charge of inaugurating the Congress with a presentation on housing and collaborative economy in which he explained the new perspectives of access to housing in response to the economic crisis, based on the use of new technologies and blockchain as a decentralized system of information verification between peers.

Communication to international congress

Last Friday, November 22, PhD student Maria Paula Rodríguez, a researcher at the UNESCO Housing Chair of URV, orally introduced the statement entitled “Cohousing as a model of collaborative housing: risks arising from the determination of spaces and uses, and the dogmatic nature of purpose “, whose participation took place in the International Congress of Collaborative Accommodation in the city of Almeria. A great opportunity to account for the challenges facing the new collaborative alternatives to access housing.

 

IV International Congress for the Study of Mediation and Conflict

Mrs Emma López attended the IV International Congress for the Study of Mediation and Conflict, which took place in Murcia between the 3rd and 5th of October with the communication “The use of mediation in conflicts derived from contract leases”.

Posters in the I Congress on the right to personal autonomy

On October 21 and 22, 2019, the I Congress on the Right to Personal Autonomy took place at the International Convention Center of Barcelona (CCIB). The conclusions and presentations can be consulted in the following link: https://www.autonomiapersonal.org/. The UNESCO Housing Chair of the URV contributed to the presentation of two of the twenty participating posters.

The first poster presents the SOCATEL Project, which consists of a co-creative platform to implement long-term care laws for the elderly. It is a research project funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 Program. The second poster with the name COMBIO240 tries to disseminate the knowledge of article 240 of the Civil Code of Catalonia on the mutual relations of mutual support and its potential to accomplish with article 19 of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (2006) and Observation General 5 of the Convention Committee (2017).

The house in 360º

Este jueves 31 de octubre en La Pedrera la Càtedra UNESCO d’Habitatge de la URV organiza el evento “La vivienda en 360º” que se centra en la problemática del acceso y en la de la pérdida de la vivienda. Además de las tres sesiones con expertos, se proyectará el documental “El umbral” y se mostrará la experiencia “El llindar”, destinados a la sensibilización sobre la problemática de la exclusión residencial y del sinhogarismo.

Speacker

Dr. Rosa M. Garcia Teruel was invited speacker at the I Conference of Property Managers in Tarragona (27-09-2019). The topis of her presentation was the new legislation on residential tenancies. After the presentation, an interesting debate took place, where property managers highlighted their problems when applying these new legal provisions.

European Commission

Prof. Sergio Nasarre participated in a session with the European Commission in Brussels on October 3, 2019, with the purpose of analyzing the mechanisms in Europe to favor the change of bank by mortgage debtors.

Speaker

Dr. Rosa M. Garcia Teruel was invited speaker in the V National Conference of Registrars, which took place in Seville on the 3rd and 4th October. In particular, her speech covered the tokenization of rights in rem within the 5th Book of the Catalan Civil Code. After this, she had the opportunity to participate in a debate with experts from IT companies in tokenization.

Inaugurate

Prof. Sergio Nasarre was invited to inaugurate the “I Conference of Tarragona” of the Association of condominium managers on 28th September 2019, where he had the opportunity to discuss the future of housing and urban leases.

Conference

Prof. Sergio Nasarre was invited as speaker to the Conference “Current challenges in digital contracting” organized by the Carlos III University of Madrid and the University of Zaragoza on September 26 and 27, 2019, where he had the opportunity to explain his research carried out on blockchain and tokenization, especially in the real estate sector.
