Presentation of the book La gestión de la vivienda social en clave europea (Social housing management in a European context)

The book presentation of “La gestión de la vivienda social en clave europea” (Social housing management in a European context), published by Tirant lo Blanch, took place on May 12. Dr. Núria Lambea is the author of this book, which is the result of her doctoral thesis, supervised by Prof. Dr. Sergio Nasarre and recognised with the Extraordinary PhD Award of the URV.

The book was presented by Dr. Carles Sala, Secretary for Housing and Social Inclusion (Generalitat de Catalunya) and Ms. Carme Trilla, President of the Hàbitat3 Foundation and of the Observatori Metropolità de l’Habitatge de Barcelona. We also had the participation of Mr. Ignacio Escalante, member of the publishing department of Tirant lo Blanch, Dr. Héctor Simón, director of the UNESCO Chair of Housing URV and Prof. Dr. Sergio Nasarre, Professor of Civil Law at the URV.

This book aims to respond to the existing need in Spain for a common and functional legal framework for social housing providers and managers, which allows structuring and improving the efficiency of an atomised and unstructured sector. To do so, it undertakes an in-depth analysis not only of social housing management models in Spain, but also of comparative management models (specifically, the English housing association model and the Dutch woningcorporatie model, which are private non-profit management ones). The event took place in-person, at the Rovira i Virgili University (Tarragona), although it was also streamed. The recording can be found at the following link:
