Conferences

Researchers from the UNESCO Housing Chair URV have delivered 400 lectures in 35 countries since its creation in 2013. From Australia and Japan to Mexico and Argentina, passing through most European countries.

Urban October ONU

The Chair organizes the 10th international Workshop entitled “Collaborative Housing” with the aim of reviewing the collaborative phenomenon applied to housing, its advantages and obstacles as a means of access to housing, especially in the face of the scenario posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. https://housing.urv.cat/en/webinar-la-vivienda-colaborativa/

The speakers are: Darinka Czischke, Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture and Built Environment, Delft University of Technology; María Paula Rodríguez, Pre-doctoral Researcher at the UNESCO Chair Housing Chair and Dolors Camats, Director of the Cooperativa Obrera de Viviendas.

Call for papers: kick-off webinar of the group “Housing and New Technologies” – European Network for Housing Research

The kick-off webinar of the working group “Housing and New Technologies of the European Network for Housing Research will take place on 20th January 2021. This virtual seminar, coordinated by Prof. Michel Vols (University of Groningen) and by Dr. Rosa M. Garcia-Teruel (UNESCO Housing Chair, URV), will cover the following topics related to housing and new technologies: real estate crowdfunding, blockchain, big data, data protection and smart homes, IoT, AI and ML techniques, 3d printing, etc. Those researchers interested in presenting their papers may submit an abstract before the 20th November by sending an email to rosamaria.garciat@urv.cat.

Meeting on Inclusive Habitat for all

Last Tuesday, August 25th our colleague Andrés Labella participated in the meeting on “Inclusive Habitat for all: kids, elderly people and people with disabilities” organized by the Coordinator “We Are the city Who we Inhabit it” in the framework of the campaign “Urban Environmental Plan from citizenship and for the Common Good”. Different issues related to the right to the city, such as the accessibility of public space, were addressed, and contributions were made in relation to the diversity of forms of housing tenure and mutual support networks provided for in Catalan law.
