Sixth meeting of doctoral students and doctors
On Thursday, 12 December 2024, the Sixth meeting of doctoral students and doctors of the UNESCO Chair in Housing took place to share research topics.
Reus Municipal Housing Council
The UNESCO Housing Chair URV participates in the Municipal Housing Council of the Reus City Council, the body for citizen participation that aims to debate municipal housing policies. Dr. Gemma Caballé participated in the session that took place on November 28, 2024.

EPJ Data Science. 13, 57 (2024). https://doi.org/10.1140/epjds/s13688-024-00494-x, which shows that the language and usage of law can help predict the gender and seniority of judges. It is the result of the doctoral thesis of Dr. Lluc Font-Pomarol on data science in court rulings.

The outcome of the CEJFE Project on urban leases in the Catalan Civil Code already available
Centre d’Estudis Jurídics i Formació Especialitzada (CEJFE) funded a project on the analysis of the draft bill introducing urban leases into the sixth book of the Civil Code of Catalonia.

Participation in the Housing Council of Tarragona
Dr. Héctor Simón took part on Wednesday, 24 July, in the plenary session of the Housing Council of Tarragona on behalf of the UNESCO Housing Chair. This Council is a consultative body with the capacity to prepare constructive proposals so as to guide the city’s housing policy. Its constitution was proposed in the Tarragona Housing Local Plan 2021-2026, drawn up by the UNESCO Housing Chair.

Local Housing Plan of Passanant i Belltall (Conca de Barberà)
On July 27th, the Passanant i Belltall Local Housing Action Plan was presented, drawn up by the UNESCO Housing Chair.
Workshop MUDEC
Dr. Philippa Hughes, a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Liverpool, who is doing a research stay at the Chair, participated on Wednesday, 29 May 2024, in the Seminar on the subject “Real Estate Contracting” of the Master’s Degree in Business and Contracting Law (MUDEC) of the Rovira i Virgili University, with the presentation “Collaborative and community-led housing; drivers governance, and challenges”.
