Dr. Sergio Nasarre receives the distinction of Distinguished Professor of the URV in recognition of his services to the University

The Professor of Civil Law and founder of the UNESO Chair of Housing, Dr. Nasarre, has obtained this recognition for his remarkable academic, teaching and research career at the URV.

On November 8, the Universitat Rovira i Virgili recognized the teaching and research staff and the technical, management and administrative and service staff who, with their dedication and contribution, have contributed to the progress of the institution. Among the awardees, Dr. Nasarre has been recognized with the distinction of Distinguished Professor, an honor that aims to demonstrate excellence, dedication and leadership in the fields of teaching, research and academic service.

The creation and direction for 8 years of the UNESCO Housing Chair; an ICREA Acadèmia awarded by the Catalan Institution for Research and Advanced Studies (ICREA); participation in more than 50 competitive research projects, leading 17 of them; the collection of more than €150,000 in financial resources; as well as the research excellence embodied in the publication of 5 books and 115 scientific papers; or his contribution to the projection of the URV with almost 800 media impacts in 8 years; these are just some of the elements that have led Professor Sergio Nasarre to obtain this recognition.

Dr. Héctor Simon, current director of the UNESCO Housing Chair, assures that this recognition will have a very significant impact both for Dr. Nasarre himself and for the Chair. “This award for the founder of the Chair is a well-deserved individual recognition of his career. Thanks to his dedication and leadership, the Chair is a center of excellence in our field recognized by UNESCO. It is an honor for us that he continues to be involved in the structure and ordinary activities of the Chair”.

Prof. Dr. Sergio Nasarre delivers the presentation ““Professionalization vs slogan in housing policies” at the 1st Catalan Conference of Property Managers, which took place in Barcelona on November 21, 2024.

Dr. Héctor Simón Moreno delivers the opening lecture of the “Congress on Legal Problems of Housing in the Current Socio-Economic Environment”, organized within the framework of the activities of the Chair of Notarial Law of the University of Oviedo in collaboration with the Complutense University of Madrid. The Congress will be held in Oviedo on November 14 and 15, 2024.

Dr. Héctor Simón Moreno attends the International Conference “Designing policies for a resilient Europe” and meeting of the European project FutureResilience (https://futuresilience.eu), of which the Chair is part thanks to the pilot project “Liquid Housing” (https://housing .urv.cat/liquid-housing/). The event takes place in Ferrara on November 5 and 6, 2024.

Prof. Dr. Sergio Nasarre Aznar delivered the opening lecture “Current situation and problems regarding housing in Spain one year after Law 12/2023, for the right to housing” of the legal conferences “Housing in Spain: current problems and possible solutions”, organized by the University of La Rioja. The event took place in Logroño on October 24th and 25th, 2024.
