Prof. Bence Kovats, from the Slovak Academy of Sciences, delivered the conference “Conservative housing policy and its implications” in the Board Room of the URV’s Catalonia Campus. The event took place on Monday, June 23, 2025.

On Thursday 19 and Friday 20 June 2025, the 5th International Seminar on Housing Rental Income Control took place, bringing together researchers from fifteen countries, from the Philippines to Chile and from Ireland to South Africa. The aim was to address this current issue that directly affects access to housing. The sessions addressed both the impact of legislation in Catalonia and Spain, as well as comparative experiences in Europe, America, Africa and Asia, as well as the economic and social analysis of rent control policies. Special emphasis was placed on the constitutional implications, the effects on access to housing and the situation of vulnerable groups, in addition to presenting case studies from various countries and models of affordable housing incentives.

Prof. Dr. Sergio Nasarre Aznar participated in the Conference “Social Function of Property and Right to Housing”, organized by the Hay Derecho Foundation. The event took place on June 18, 2025 at the Complutense University of Madrid.

Dr. Héctor Simón participated in the presentation of the project “What Works in Housing Policies?”, in collaboration with the Ivàlua Institute and the Generalitat de Catalunya (Catalan Government), which took place in Barcelona on Thursday, 12 June 2025. The project analyzes which public policies are truly effective in reducing housing exclusion. The objective is to offer rigorous and useful knowledge to guide the design of evidence-informed policies and guarantee the right to housing for all.
