Purpose: The increase in judicial conflicts caused by the pandemic has once again revealed the limitations of the judicial process to resolve some of the issues related to access to housing and relations between neighbors. The health and social crisis have accentuated the perception that we coexist, but our coexistence lacks a sense of community, which shows that we need housing policies that provide conflict resolution mechanisms that promote dialogue and collaboration. For these reasons, the UNESCO Housing Chair of Rovira i Virgili University, in collaboration with the Postgraduate Course in Mediation and Conflict Resolution of the FURV, has brought together national and international experts to analyze the benefits of applied mediation as a public policy tool in the management of the urban.

Speakers:

  • Prof. Xavier Pastor: Political scientist and conflictologist. Director of the Postgraduate Course on Public Conflict Resolution, UdG Foundation. Professor of the Conflictology Program of the UOC’s Law and Political Science Studies.
  • Prof. Alejandró Nató: Lawyer, attorney, mediator and specialist in public conflict management. Director of the Office of Conflict Management of the Office of the Ombudsman of the Argentine Nation and Professor of the Latin American Law Chair at the University of Buenos Aires. President de CIEDAPAS.
  • Arch. Anna Fabregat: President of the Association of Expert, Forensic and Mediator Expert Architects (AAEPFMC) of the College of Architects of Catalonia (COAC).

With the moderation of Mrs. Emma López Solé, conflict management consultant, co-director and coordinator of the Postgraduate Course on Mediation and Conflict Resolution of the Rovira i Virgili University Foundation and member of the UNESCO Housing Chair.

The event is part of the activities carried out for the celebration of the European Day of Mediation. For more information access the following link:
