In December of 2013 the European Commission launched its first official study into the promotion of the right to a home in member countries and on the consequences of evictions. This proposal won the open competition of General Directorate for Work, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the European Commission, receiving a grant of  1 million Euros.

This study aims to analyse the social, economic and financial causes of the crisis, as well as the current context and the consequences of the same and the measures adopted by each member State. In order to accomplish this objective it is necessary to:

  1. Analyse real data regarding evictions, the profiles of families being evicted and the risk factors involved.
  2. Identify the measures intended to prevent evictions, as well as the legal process involved in evictions and the possible changes that could be implemented.
