Recognition to Dr. Encarnació Ricart
On November 29, 2019, during the follow-up commission, the Chair delivered a commemorative gift to Dr. Encarnació Ricart for her recognition in the creation of the Chair in 2013.
“The Threshold” simulation experience for Social Integration students at the Gaudí High School in Reus
Dr. Jan Gonzalo (co-author of the simulation experience) and Ms. Núria Lambea, researcher of the Housing Chair, were, December 17, at Gaudí High School in Reus to carry out the simulation experience “The Threshold” with the students of the Higher Education Degree (HNC) on Social Integration. Canal Reus TV was also present to witness this gamified activity.

On December 10, Dr. Jan Gonzalo (co-author of the simulation experience) and Ms. Núria Lambea, researcher of the Housing Chair, had the opportunity to talk about homelessness and “The Threshold” in Tarragona Ràdio, being the latter a gamified activity intended to raise awareness of the homelessness and residential exclusion issues among students over 15 years of age. On Novembrer 27, Dr. Jan Gonzalo and Dra. Estela Rivas, were in Onda Cero de Tarragona talking about “The Threshold”, a gamified activity to raise awareness of the homelessness and residential exclusion, designed for among students over 15 years of age. The opinion column
Dr. Maridalia Rodríguez Padilla shared in the opinion column Aleph Jurídico of journal Acento.com.do a short analysis of the implementation of the transfer of use as an alternative measure between the purchase and rental of housing, following the example of the Scandinavian states with the application of the Andel model. In her opinion entitled “La cesión de uso como medio de acceso a la vivienda”, she also emphasizes that in many of the states with housing deficiencies, such as the Dominican Republic, they have similar regulations for the implementation of these developments, but they have not focused effectively on the problem of housing, as is the case with the regulations governing cooperative associations.

Ambassadors meeting
Prof. Dr. Sergio Nasarre attended, last Friday November 15th, the Ambassadors meeting. There, Dr. Xavier Grau explained the importance of investment in research and its need to be effectively used in the production and social sectors.
ENHR Coordination Committee meeting
Prof. Dr. Sergio Nasarre participated in the ENHR Coordination Committee meeting that took place last week in Nicosia. Among other things, the venue and development of the ENHR 2020 Conference were discussed (08-11-2019). ENHR is the largest network of expert housing researchers in Europe. https://www.enhr.net
International research partner
The Housing Chair of the URV will be one of the of the Department of Civil Law at the University of Malta in the project entitled ‘Systematising Smart Contracts within Classical Contract Law Theory’. The Department of Civil Law, of which a PhD graduate of the Housing Chair, Kurt Xerri, forms part, has been awarded a Research Excellence Grant of EUR 60k from the Research Grant Committee of the University of Malta, towards the end of conducting research on the legal effects of computer protocols containing partially or fully self-executing, self-enforcing agreements. This will be done over a two-year period from January 2020 to 2021. As a partner, the URV will be involved in all the various stages of the project.
