SC-UNPAR2024 International Conference

Prof. Dr. Sergio Nasarre gives delivered several lectures at the “International Student Conference 2024”, which focuses in this edition on the topic “Empowering Youth and Local Voices for Human-Centric, Sustainable, and Inclusive Smart Cities”. The Conference takes place from 22 to 27 January 2024. The conference is organized by Universitas Katolik Parahyangan (Indonesia).

Call for papers open IFMOP2024

The 7th International Research Forum on Multi-Owned Properties will run from 15-17 May at the Centre Tarraconense el Seminari in Tarragona, Spain (IFMOP 2024), after taking place in South Africa, Australia and Canada. It will be the first time it takes place in Europe. The call for papers is now open.

Conference G.K. Chesterton

Last Monday, December 18, the Chair organized a conference on the economic theory of G.K. Chesterton, who proposes a widely distributed property as an alternative to capitalism and socialism: “The influence of G. K. Chesterton, today”. The Conference had the participation of the Excellency. and Rvdm. Mr. Joan Planellas, Archbishop of Tarragona, Dra. National Housing Conference

Prof Dr. Sergio Nasarre Aznar and Dr. Gemma Caballé Fabra participate in the “III National Housing Congress: Remedies against the erosion of the right to housing in times of uncertainty”, which is held at the University of Zaragoza on Thursday November 23 and Friday, November 24.

Congress of the Catalan Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology

Dr. María Paula Rodríguez Liévano, researcher at the Chair, participated in the 27th Congress of the Catalan Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology, which took place in Barcelona on November 16 and 17, 2023. Dr. Rodríguez’s presentation was about the phenomenon of cohousing and collaborative experiences. Second Housing Forum – Guadalajara (Mexico)

Dr. Núria Lambea and Dr. Maria Paula Rodríguez participated on Thursday August 31 and Friday September 1 in the Second Housing Forum 2023 “For a walkable city”, organized by the Municipal Government of Guadalajara (Mexico). His interventions have analyzed the models of social housing and housing cooperatives in Europe.

 

Launch of the European Housing Studies Course (EHS) – Katowice

The launch of the European Housing Studies Course (EHS) has been present at at least seven conferences between March and June 2023. In addition, two specific events have been organized in Brussels, 1-6-2023; and Madrid, 15-6-2023. The third took place in Katowice (Poland) on 3 July 2023. The EHS is the result of the European Housing+ project. See the program of the three events here.

6th Summer Course of the UNESCO Housing Chair

The UNESCO Chair of Housing at Rovira i Virgili University is organizing the 6th Summer Course “The Housing Law, in depth”, which will take place at the headquarters of the College of Surveyors, Technical Architects and Building Engineers of Tarragona (COAAT) on Thursday 13 July. The course aims to be a meeting point to discuss from a critical and academic point of view the novelties that the Housing Law incorporates, such as its impact on urban lease contracts, evictions and squatting, the real estate professions or on rehabilitation and energy efficiency, as well as the new regime of social housing.
