Work session – Ministry of Social Rights

Dr. Núria Lambea Llop was invited to participate on Thursday 30 May 2024 in a work session at the Ministry of Social Rights on behalf of the UNESCO Housing Chair to analyze the promotion of the so-called housing associations in Spain.

Workshop MUDEC

Dr. Philippa Hughes, a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Liverpool, who is doing a research stay at the Chair, participated on Wednesday, 29 May 2024, in the Seminar on the subject “Real Estate Contracting” of the Master’s Degree in Business and Contracting Law (MUDEC) of the Rovira i Virgili University, with the presentation “Collaborative and community-led housing; drivers governance, and challenges”.

“Liquid Housing” project survey

Dr. Héctor Simón leads the “Liquid Housing” project, which seeks to examine and understand the phenomenon of hidden homelessness in the city of Tarragona, which is characterized by the idea that almost anything can be considered today as suitable housing.  To obtain data, the Chair has launched a questionnaire, which will allow obtaining and analyzing essential data for this project and being able to work with possible solutions. Visiting professors at the Housing Chair

Dr. Philippa Hughes, professor at the University of Liverpool, and Mr. Rogelio Loera-Gonzalez, Head of Planning, Management and Housing Promotion of the City Council of Guadalajara, Mexico, are doing a research stay at the Chair from April to June. In addition, Dr. Hugues is the beneficiary of a grant within the framework of the European postdoctoral aid program “Marie Slodowska Curie Actions – Postdoctoral Fellowships”, which will allow her to carry out a research stay at the Chair from September onwards.
