Big Blue Book

The UN “Big Blue Book” has been published. It gathers 70 Universities worldwide that contribute, thanks to their research in the field of cities and urban studies, to achieve the global challenge number 11 (sustainable cities). German Government

On the 22nd and 23rd of May the biannual meeting with the group of experts that advises the German Government on housing in Europe for its presidency of the European Commission in 2020 attended by Dr. Sergio Nasarre took place in Bonn.

Participation of Land Registrars in the Law Degree

The land registrar D. Víctor Prado delivered a lecture in the subject “Property Rights” of the Law Degree of the Faculty of Legal Sciences of University Rovira i Virgili on 21 May 2019. The students were asked to analyse a mortgage loan deed applying the Spanish mortgage law and the rules governing the Spanish land registry.

Lecture

Prof. Nasarre was invited to lecture and to participate in two round tables at the international conference EIJC & Dataharvest that took place in Malines, May 14-17, 2019. Prof. Nasarre’s interventions dealt with the situation of access to housing in Europe and the relationships between housing researchers, lobbyists and media professionals.

New Urban Agenda of Catalonia

Dr. Estela Rivas has taken part on June 13 in the meeting of the Technical Commission of the Urban Assembly of Catalonia. The meeting was held in the Territory and Sustainability Department of Barcelona.

Conference

Prof. Nasarre was invited to the session “Alternative mechanisms of access to property” in the Course of the General Council of the Judiciary “The current problem of the use of urban real estate: from their lease to collaborative housing” held between May 6 and 8, 2019 in the Judicial School. Dr. Nasarre reviewed the situation of housing in a European context, with special emphasis on intermediate tenures and the recent reform of urban leases, which are now contested as unconstitutional.
