Conference in Turin

Within the program STA-Erasmus+ for professors, Dr. Maria Font, researcher of the Housing Chair and member of the Department of Private Law, participated in a Seminar about Spanish Law organized by Dr. Barbara Pasa, responsible of the Law University of Turin (Italy). The seminar, addressed to 150 Italian students, was titled  “El acceso a la vivienda en España: financiación hipoteria, protección de consumidores y alternativas”. Her speech, “La propiedad compartida y temporal en Derecho catalán y en Derecho internacional”, was both interesting and surprising for the audience (13 and 14 April 2015).

Participation in an EUROFOUND conference

Dr. Blanca Deusdad, researcher of the Housing Chair, participated in a conference organised by EUROFOUND: “Preventing inadequate housing: case studies”, 13th may in Brussels. She was discussant of the  “Zaragoza Vivienda Housing Programme for Older People” workshop.

TENLAW Meeting Tartu (Estonia)

Interview in Cadena SER

Dr. Sergio Nasarre was interviewed by Cadena SER last 3rd of May 2015, in the radio programme “SER consumidor”. It was about the legal regulation of intermediate tenures: shared ownership (gradual acquisition of a housing) and temporary ownership (time-limited acquisition of a housing) as new ways of access to housing. Finalist at the III Competition of Young Researchers of the Faculty of Legal Sciences of the University Rovira i Virgili

Predoctoral researcher of the Housing Chair Gemma Caballé has been awarded with the second price on the III Young Researchers’ Competition of the Faculty of Legal Sciences of the University Rovira i Virgili.  Her work is entitled “¿Qué es una vivienda?” and is about the concept of housing. Participation in the Latin American Conference of Social Interest Housing

Dr. Estela Rivas Nieto, deputy director of the Housing Chair, will take part in the Latin American Conference of Social Interest Housing, in order to discuss aspects concerning urban leases and how to increase this contract in Latin America. It is going to take place next July in Montevideo.

Appearance before the Catalan Parliament

Two members of the Housing Chair have been called to appear before the Catalan Parliament as experts, in the session of May 27th, in relation to the bill on urgent measures on housing (202-00018/08).

Round Table on housing social policies

The Housing Chair has organized, on April 7th, a Round Table where candidates of municipal elections of Tarragona on 2015 have offered their point of view of the housing policies to be carried out in Tarragona. Dr. Sergio Nasarre, Housing Chair director, and Dr. Estela Rivas, vice-dean of the Legal Sciences Faculty of the University Rovira i Virgili and deputy director of the Housing Chair, have overseen the Round Table.
